With all our senses alive and alert, we should see, hear,
smell, taste and feel everything. This book is the long and short of
observations.
Sestinas are emotional elevators which move from top to
bottom or from bottom to top. They encompass love, envy, sorrow and
despair. For me, when writing them, I enjoyed the roller-coaster ride.
Sestinas challenged me. As you will see, this form of poetry is precise.
So it is with haikus. The distinct pattern holds in check
the delight of observing nature in succinct phrases. Here you will meet
my hummingbirds, my pansies, horses and my kittycats. Here you will
learn Chinese people have emotions the same as we.
This is a book to be read at leisure, a page at a time.
Place it where laughter and love meet. Place it where senses are tickled
by newly discovered observations.
