A scientist tries to maintain his sanity in a
world gone mad
Jeffrey Shenero, professor and toxic mold expert, finds
himself being sued for millions of dollars because he didn’t find
mold in a home. The case goes to trial. The story is told from the vantage
point of his best friend, Frank Bennett, attorney at law, and takes
place in Norman, Oklahoma.
In a separate incident, Sandra Hudson, a vindictive sociopath, rises
to prominence as she challenges Shenero in her attempts to close down
the nation’s schools with claims about her clinical reactions
to mold.
This book might just as aptly be named Pure Snake Oil, in reference
to certain salesmen of the Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries,
smooth and slippery characters, who presented a well-rehearsed routine
for sales of their own special magic elixir.
